Power Distribution Systems Operations Engineer (Entry, Staff, Senior, or Principal)

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; onsite role.

Salary: $70,000–$156,600 per year, depending on engineering level and experience.

What you will do

• Apply engineering standards, principles, theories, and techniques to power distribution operations and project assignments.
• Develop and review technical documentation, designs, calculations, testing materials, reports, standards, and procedures.
• Support operations, maintenance, testing, diagnostics, regulatory activities, commissioning, inspections, and field engineering oversight.
• Coordinate engineering projects and project phases including research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning.
• Support bid and proposal evaluations through technical analysis and calculations, communicating with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
• Coordinate interns, drafters, technicians, craft personnel, and other contributors while supporting project budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and work-order management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; electrical engineering is preferred.
• Relevant experience varies by level: 0+ years for Entry, 2+ years for Staff, 5+ years with EIT/FE or 7+ years without it for Senior, and 9+ years with PE or 15+ years without it for Principal.
• EIT/FE is preferred for Entry and strongly preferred for Staff; it is required for the Senior level when applicable, while PE registration is required for the Principal level.
• Ability to demonstrate the technical skills and core competencies established for the applicable engineering level.
• Must work onsite in Denver, Colorado, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated field devices and controls, including Eaton CBC 8000, SEL 651R, S&C equipment, and switched cabinets.
• Experience with distribution system planning studies using CYME or Synergy.
• Familiarity with ADMS functions such as FLISR and IVVO, DERMS interactions, smart meter settings, and distributed intelligent applications.
• Experience with PowerApps, SQL, or Python scripting.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional and field teams.
