What you will do

• Conduct load studies for planned and emergency work to assess capacity and support safe switching operations.
• Analyze distribution-system data and recommend solutions that reduce risks to facilities and the public.
• Commission Distribution Automation, Volt/VAR Optimization, and Advanced Distribution Management Systems equipment before operational use.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during equipment commissioning and distribution-system operations.
• Advise system operators on new technologies and collaborate with field employees on urgent operational issues.
• Prepare technical reports, studies, analyses, project forecasts, and planning materials.

Requirements

• Entry-level qualification for new graduates with a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• A bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology may satisfy the degree requirement.
• Ability to apply engineering theory, analytical techniques, and problem-solving methods to moderately complex assignments.
• Ability to understand relationships between systems and equipment, coordinate routine work, and provide guidance to lower-level employees.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work collaboratively with stakeholders and peers.
• The position is posted at multiple grade levels, with higher levels requiring additional education, skills, experience, and certifications.

Nice to have

• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future Professional Engineer licensing.
• Experience with scheduling techniques such as CPM, PERT, or flow charts.
