What you will do

• Monitor and analyze the wholesale electricity market and recommend system or market design improvements.
• Build, maintain, and validate power system models and perform engineering studies using hirify.global network models.
• Investigate and resolve issues affecting wholesale market and grid operations.
• Develop tools and methods for data acquisition, reporting, and analysis, and maintain protocol-required market reports.
• Test and validate changes to market applications and support implementation of improvements.
• Provide technical input to internal teams, Market Participants, PUCT, industry groups, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in the electric utility industry: less than 2 years for Level I, at least 2 years for Level II, or at least 3 years for Level III.
• Proficiency with SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong preference for Python skills in data analysis, automation, or scripting.
• Ability to address market participant questions, attend stakeholder and PUCT meetings, and collaborate across departments.
