Gas Buyer Trader (Natural Gas)

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; full-time onsite role

Salary: $97,600–$138,600 per year

What you will do

• Develop and execute daily, annual, and long-range natural gas supply plans for regulated operating companies.
• Negotiate gas purchase agreements and execute multi-million-dollar transactions with producers, brokers, and marketers.
• Monitor financial trading markets and use derivatives, hedging, arbitrage, transportation, and storage optimization to manage gas price exposure.
• Coordinate with gas schedulers to ensure reliable and economical daily and hourly supply delivery.
• Prepare regulatory testimony, numerical models, comments, and responses for commission proceedings and information requests.
• Develop gas sales agreements, procurement policies, trading strategies, and low-emission gas initiatives while maintaining transaction records and supplier communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of natural gas industry experience.
• Knowledge of gas markets, interstate pipeline networks, gas transportation and storage contracts, FERC regulations, and negotiation strategies.
• Ability to independently negotiate high-value transactions.
• Direct gas buying or trading experience, including financial hedging instruments, or experience as a gas transportation scheduler or analyst.
• Availability for a 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. schedule, including rotating holiday and weekend coverage.
