Associate Director - Securities and Derivatives

Location: Hybrid in Denver, CO; Boston, MA; Waltham, MA; or Kansas City, MO

Salary: $85,000–$160,000 USD in Colorado; $95,000–$125,000 USD in Massachusetts, plus potential discretionary bonus and/or equity awards.

What you will do

• Analyze and monitor securities and derivative transactions across equities, fixed income, futures, options, swaps, and structured instruments.
• Support the full trade lifecycle, including capture, confirmation, settlement, valuation, corporate actions, collateral, margin, and expiration or termination.
• Perform daily reconciliations of positions, cash, transactions, valuations, and financial data against counterparties and custodians.
• Investigate discrepancies, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and escalate material operational or financial risks.
• Prepare reporting, support financial close, regulatory and audit activities, and maintain operational metrics and exception reports.
• Improve controls and data quality, automate manual processes, participate in system initiatives, and mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in securities, derivatives, capital markets, investment operations, financial analysis, or a related financial-services environment.
• Strong knowledge of securities and derivatives products, transaction lifecycles, financial markets, trade processing, reconciliations, settlements, valuations, and exception management.
• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, lookups, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of financial data and multiple priorities.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Denver, Boston, Waltham, or Kansas City.

Nice to have

• Experience with options, futures, swaps, forwards, structured products, OTC derivatives, or exchange-traded derivatives.
• Experience modeling derivatives in InvestOne accounting software.
• Knowledge of derivative valuation, pricing models, collateral, margin, and exposure concepts.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, VBA, Power BI, or other data-analysis and automation tools.
• CFA, FRM, CPA, or equivalent professional certification.
