Trading Operations Lead (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, New York, Portland, or remote within Canada or the United States

Salary: $135,000–$168,700 USD annually for employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area; $121,500–$151,800 USD annually for employees elsewhere in the United States

What you will do

• Own and scale trading operations and the supervisory framework for an SEC-registered investment advisor and FINRA-member broker-dealer.
• Oversee order and trade activity across money market funds, mutual funds, ETFs, and fixed income, including reconciliations, exceptions, escalations, settlements, and trade errors.
• Lead trade surveillance, pre- and post-trade controls, best execution monitoring, reporting obligations, and supervisory reviews.
• Manage CAT, CAIS, TRACE, SEC Rules 606 and 607, FINRA Rule 6151, books and records, customer statements, and trade confirmations.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Product, Compliance, Finance, Legal, Risk, carrying brokers, executing brokers, custodians, fund companies, and transfer agents.
• Prepare for regulatory exams, audits, and testing while improving procedures, operational reporting, system controls, and partner workflows.

Requirements

• Active FINRA Series 7, Series 63, and Series 24 licenses.
• 8+ years of experience in trading, brokerage, or investment operations, including ownership of trade lifecycle, settlement, or trading control functions.
• Hands-on experience with fixed income, mutual funds, and ETFs.
• Experience building or materially improving trade surveillance or operational control frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of FINRA and SEC requirements covering recordkeeping, supervision, best execution, trade reporting, and customer protection.
• Clear written communication and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, regulated environments, and fast-changing workflows.

Nice to have

• FINRA Series 99 or Series 57.
• Experience at a fintech or high-growth company operating a broker-dealer or RIA at scale.
• Experience launching new products, partners, or clearing relationships from scratch.
• SQL skills or experience investigating issues in internal tooling.
