Process Operator (Chemical Processing)

What you will do

• Operate LAO and PAO chemical processing systems, including DCS and HMI controls, reactors, compressors, pumps, distillation towers, refrigeration systems, tank farms, and wastewater systems.
• Monitor unit conditions, collect samples, maintain operating logs, and adjust process controls to maintain production, quality, and safe operating conditions.
• Perform start-ups, shutdowns, field inspections, troubleshooting, emergency responses, and safe isolation of equipment.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, shift supervision, and operations teams on repairs, preventive maintenance, operating procedures, and process improvements.
• Manage tank-farm activities, rail-car positioning, and rail-car and tank-truck loading.
• Lead area safety inspections, complete HSE and process-safety checks, support operator training, and maintain housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of full-time practical experience in chemical process operations or a P-Tech degree.
• Working knowledge of operating units, process chemistry, control systems, safe work practices, standard operating procedures, and special permits.
• Ability to troubleshoot process and equipment problems and make decisions during urgent or emergency conditions.
• Basic experience with Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including overtime and call-outs.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and manual valve and equipment operation.
