High Reliability & Operational Transformation Consultant

Location: Remote within the contiguous 48 states, near a major airport; weekly travel of up to 80% may be required

Base salary: $120,000–$170,000 for Associate or $165,000–$200,000 for Senior Associate. Total estimated compensation including annual incentive: $144,000–$204,000 for Associate or $206,250–$250,000 for Senior Associate.

What you will do

• Assess operational performance, organizational culture, management systems, reliability, safety, quality, and execution risks.
• Support High Reliability Organization transformations and apply Human and Organizational Performance principles to improve resilience.
• Facilitate diagnostics, workshops, interviews, and site assessments, including root-cause analysis.
• Design and implement integrated management systems, operating model improvements, and execution excellence initiatives.
• Strengthen leadership effectiveness, accountability, decision-making, organizational alignment, and continuous improvement.
• Translate operational findings into practical recommendations and implementation plans that reduce risk and improve measurable business results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA, advanced degree, or relevant advanced military training is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in operational excellence, military operations, manufacturing, industrial operations, engineering, consulting, or a related field.
• Experience supporting operational improvement, culture transformation, organizational change, performance improvement, or operational excellence initiatives.
• Experience in a complex, highly regulated, high-risk, or high-consequence operating environment.
• Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work credibly with frontline personnel, operational leaders, senior executives, and client teams in ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in military leadership, nuclear or aviation operations, manufacturing, industrial operations, reliability, maintenance, engineering, or other complex operating environments.
• Background in refining, petrochemicals, energy, utilities, mining, transportation, plant management, or operations management.
