Manufacturing Engineer Intern (Manufacturing)

Location: Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, United States; office-based duties are combined with physical work in field or production environments.

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour.

JLG, an Oshkosh company, develops access equipment including mobile elevating work platforms, telehandlers, utility vehicles, and accessories.

What you will do

• Audit and update work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
• Improve material handling methods and perform time studies.
• Analyze workstations and production cells to improve productivity and quality.
• Provide technical support to production personnel and input for fixtures and tooling.
• Assist with plant layout, workstation design, ERP manufacturing software, and new product launch documentation.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Ability to perform both detailed computer-based work and physical tasks in production environments, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with welding, machining, fabrication, mechanical, manufacturing, or assembly work.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, 3D printing, and 2D or 3D CAD software.
• Exposure to Lean and 5S concepts.
