Engineering Co-op Intern (Manufacturing Engineering)

Location: Byesville, Ohio, United States; onsite. Applicants must be able to work in or relocate to Byesville. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $21–$29 per hour, based on anticipated graduation year.

What you will do

• Design tooling, fixtures, and workstations to support manufacturing needs and process improvements.
• Conduct time studies, plant layout work, ergonomic assessments, and workstation development.
• Analyze production issues and develop practical solutions with manufacturing, engineering, vendors, and leadership.
• Support equipment verification, precision machining, gauging, machine design, fabrication, and Lean continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create and maintain routings, bills of materials, work instructions, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Perform Gage R&R studies, machine qualifications, and statistical analysis to support quality and process performance.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's program or higher, or have graduated within one year of the position start date.
• Must participate in a co-op internship program through a current college or university.
• Degree focus in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• Ability to read and create electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Competency with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and NX.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing, machining, fabrication, and assembly, plus strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD design, tooling, fixtures, or workstation development.
• Familiarity with work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
