Mechanical Engineer Intern

Location: hirify.global, Wisconsin, United States; willingness to travel or relocate to hirify.global, WI for the summer internship is required

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

hirify.global designs and manufactures specialty trucks and access equipment for communities, emergency services, defense, and industrial applications.

What you will do

• Support the design and development of vehicle components, systems, and assemblies.
• Create layouts and 3D models using CAD tools such as CATIA and CREO.
• Perform engineering calculations, including weight distribution, stress analysis, and performance estimation.
• Support prototype, pilot, and production builds, including technical assistance on the assembly floor.
• Plan, coordinate, and document vehicle, system, and component testing.
• Analyze test results, field data, and warranty information; investigate failures and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Interest in mechanical design, vehicle systems, product development, testing, or research and development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn new engineering tools, technologies, and processes.
• Willingness to travel or relocate to hirify.global, Wisconsin for the duration of the summer internship.

Nice to have

• Experience or coursework in CAD, 3D modeling, vehicle systems, statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, or stress analysis.
• Experience with testing, validation, data analysis, reliability engineering, failure analysis, or root-cause analysis.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, Formula SAE, Baja SAE, robotics, or engineering design teams.
