Salary: $167,632.13–$191,579.57 per year

What you will do

• Lead the New York interior design practice and establish creative direction, technical standards, quality expectations, and repeatable workflows.
• Direct projects throughout programming, space planning, concept and design development, documentation, bidding, construction administration, and closeout.
• Lead health and wellbeing design using FGI Guidelines, ADA, life safety coordination, infection prevention principles, and New York State DOH standards.
• Oversee FF&E strategy, product and material selection, finish schedules, specifications, procurement coordination, and constructible design documentation.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, medical planners, consultants, vendors, contractors, and clients while resolving review and construction issues.
• Develop staff, strengthen Revit and quality-control standards, and support client relationships, proposals, interviews, and business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture from an accredited program.
• Active NCIDQ certification required.
• 15+ years of professional interior design experience, including leadership of complex projects through construction completion.
• Senior-level health and wellbeing design experience with knowledge of FGI Guidelines, ADA, infection control principles, and state DOH requirements.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design excellence, technical resolution, and constructed outcomes across multiple market sectors.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; experience with FF&E, specifications, interior construction, accessibility, life safety, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Nice to have

• AAHID, EDAC, LEED AP, or WELL AP certification, or architectural licensure.
• Experience with New York City and New York State projects, academic medical centers, public-sector clients, or multisite systems.
• Experience with Lean planning, user-group facilitation, mock-ups, post-occupancy evaluation, design research, or practice standards.
