Lead Electrical Engineer, Hardware Development (Power Electronics)

Location: Sidney, Ohio, United States; onsite role. Travel of up to 10–15% may be required, including international travel.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, validate, and support electrical hardware and systems for oil-free centrifugal compressors.
• Optimize controllers, control programs, variable-frequency drives, motors, cabling, transformers, and supervisory control systems.
• Maintain bills of materials and electrical drawing packages for compressor components and systems.
• Design and document test setups and procedures, interpret validation data, and support new product development.
• Lead troubleshooting, root-cause failure analysis, electrical system modeling, and field service support.
• Train production and field teams and champion electrical safety and continuous improvement practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial environment, including experience with power electronics integration, motion control, turbomachinery, or a similar field.
• Hands-on experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting complex electrical systems and test equipment such as oscilloscopes and data loggers.
• Knowledge of digital, analog, and power electronics, high-power application safety, lean manufacturing, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, project management, presentation, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Power electronics troubleshooting and motor controls experience.
• Familiarity with Modbus, signal-level instrumentation, digital and analog circuit design, and agency approvals such as UL and CE.
