Staff IT Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 per year, plus equity for most full-time high-demand roles.

What you will do

• Own Windows and Linux systems administration across hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-premises environments.
• Architect enterprise infrastructure solutions and manage deployments across multiple hirify.global sites.
• Administer Azure, Azure Government, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, Proxmox, AWS, Palo Alto, and Juniper infrastructure.
• Harden servers and virtualization environments through patching, security baselines, and compliance controls.
• Automate provisioning and configuration with Ansible and other Configuration as Code tools.
• Own backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity using Veeam and Proxmox Backup Server; participate in after-hours incident response and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Hands-on Windows Server administration, including patching, hardening, and compliance.
• Hands-on Linux administration with Ubuntu and Debian, particularly in Proxmox environments.
• Strong Azure and Microsoft Entra ID experience, including required GCC-High or Azure Government experience.
• Experience designing and deploying enterprise infrastructure across multiple sites, with ownership of on-premises virtualization and infrastructure.
• Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, and Intune for identity and endpoint management.
• Willingness to provide after-hours on-call support for infrastructure emergencies and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required.

Nice to have

• NetApp storage administration experience.
• Exposure to Palo Alto, Juniper, SD-WAN, or other enterprise networking technologies.
• Defense, government contracting, or other regulated-industry experience.
• Production experience with Ansible and Configuration as Code.
• Experience mentoring or training junior engineers.
