Counsel

Location: Remote nationwide in the United States; hybrid or fully remote work is available. Preference for candidates located in Louisville, KY or Chicago, IL. Occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required.

Salary: $138,900–$191,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Provide legal advice and services on moderately complex to complex matters.
• Manage internal and government investigations and identify opportunities to mitigate risk.
• Manage complex litigation matters from strategy through resolution.
• Collaborate with internal business partners and outside counsel on litigation and case strategy.
• Conduct sophisticated legal analysis and independently take ownership of legal matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license and membership in a U.S. state bar association.
• At least five years of experience managing investigations or complex litigation.
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and work independently under general supervision.
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex legal issues to business partners and stakeholders.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States and maintain a dedicated workspace protecting member PHI and HIPAA information.

Nice to have

• Investigations or litigation experience in the managed care sector.
• Experience with e-discovery and large-scale discovery.
• Knowledge of Medicare laws and federal healthcare fraud laws, including the False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Statute.
