Security Engineer II (Cloud Security)

Location: Reston, United States. U.S. citizenship is required due to FedRAMP compliance obligations.

Salary: $104,700–$157,100 annual base pay.

What you will do

• Design, integrate, operate, and maintain security monitoring and auditing capabilities across a global cloud platform.
• Define monitoring and audit requirements with software architects, security engineers, SRE and operations teams, compliance experts, and business stakeholders.
• Implement and refine metrics, logs, alerts, and telemetry pipelines to improve visibility, detection, incident response, availability, and forensic readiness.
• Integrate logging and monitoring with SIEM, EDR, dashboards, and related security platforms while maintaining data quality and coverage.
• Drive DevSecOps controls across CI/CD, including compliance checks, vulnerability scanning, policy enforcement, secret management, and threat detection.
• Use Generative AI and AI-assisted security tooling to improve investigations, automate repetitive work, and enhance threat detection.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, monitoring, or related cybersecurity roles.
• Experience with logging, monitoring, SIEM, and dashboarding tools such as AWS GuardDuty, Sumo Logic, Grafana, CrowdStrike, Datadog, Splunk, or similar.
• Working knowledge of a major cloud platform, telemetry pipelines, alert configuration and tuning, and at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Shell, or Go.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, Kubernetes or OpenStack, and cloud security operations.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework or Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain.
• Security certifications such as Security+, GSEC, or CISSP.
• Experience with hirify.global products, FedRAMP environments, BIG-IP, NGINX, WAF, DDoS protection, or application security solutions.
