Senior AWS Connect Engineer

Salary: $92,500–$150,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility based on individual and company performance.

What you will do

• Own the technical design, configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of Amazon Connect capabilities supporting intelligent virtual assistant and voice and digital customer journeys.
• Design, build, test, and maintain contact flows, routing logic, prompts, queues, hours of operation, security profiles, telephony configuration, and agent-experience components.
• Develop integrations between Amazon Connect, conversational platforms, and enterprise systems using AWS Lambda, APIs, event-driven patterns, and secure data exchange.
• Troubleshoot production issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement durable remediation for flows, bots, Lambda functions, APIs, data dependencies, and telephony components.
• Improve logging, dashboards, alerts, traceability, service-level measures, security controls, documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
• Evaluate new Amazon Connect and AWS capabilities and recommend changes that improve operations, customer experience, or maintainability.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software, cloud, contact-center, or platform engineering experience, including 2+ years delivering and supporting Amazon Connect solutions in production.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining Amazon Connect contact flows and integrating Connect with AWS Lambda and external systems.
• Experience with serverless development using Node or JavaScript and with AWS IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, and Secrets Manager.
• Experience with Amazon Lex or comparable conversational AI platforms, including intent and utterance design, session and context handling, fallbacks, escalation, and conversation analytics.
• Experience supporting customer-facing or business-critical systems, including incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, change management, release management, automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment controls.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, authentication and authorization, networking, resiliency, data mapping, infrastructure or configuration as code, and secure handling of personally identifiable or protected information.
