Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Onsite at the Crossman Service Building Home Office in Sunnyvale, California, United States

Salary: $117,000–$234,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

hirify.global develops technology supporting Walmart's commerce and delivery ecosystem, including the Last Mile Delivery platform for grocery and same-day delivery.

What you will do

• Develop highly scalable services that process millions of requests per day for the Last Mile Delivery platform.
• Lead assigned engineering projects and guide small groups of four to ten engineers across geographies, including offshore associates.
• Design, review, and implement Java and Spring-based solutions using microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
• Troubleshoot business and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement measures to prevent recurring defects.
• Translate project requirements into technical solutions, write code, conduct unit testing, and coordinate delivery with project and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• At least a bachelor's degree in a relevant computer science or engineering field with 3 years of software engineering experience, or 5 years of relevant experience.
• 4 or more years of experience in software engineering and Java/J2EE design and architecture.
• Expert knowledge of Java, Spring, Spring Boot, large-scale distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with microservice architecture, performance tuning, multithreading, advanced SQL queries, public cloud services, and real-time data processing pipelines.
• Experience in Agile iterative development and CI/CD environments, with the ability to document technical and business requirements.
