Senior Software Development Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Portland, Oregon; telecommuting allowed from within the United States where Cambia does business, currently Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or Utah.

Salary: $166,878–$186,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, debug, test, and maintain secure, reliable, performant, and scalable application systems.
• Design databases and develop data pipelines for data exchange, cleansing, validation, standardization, search, and ranking.
• Build complex distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and healthcare platform features.
• Lead cross-functional work with Architecture, DevOps, Quality, and Product stakeholders.
• Provide technical consulting, conduct code and design reviews, and resolve complex programming and system coordination issues.
• Prepare testing, operational, system, and user documentation; provide technical direction and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate software industry experience.
• 8 years of experience with relational and non-relational databases, test-driven and behavior-driven development, performance testing, large-scale applications, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, security testing, and vulnerability remediation.
• At least 3 years of experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Python, RESTful services, React, Node, GitHub, GitLab, IntelliJ, Swagger, JSON, XML, SOAP, messaging systems, Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat, Nginx, CI/CD, Maven, Gradle, and Jenkins.
• At least 2 years of experience with Trizetto Facets, FHIR standards, AWS and other cloud technologies, and healthcare industry practices and regulations.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, estimating and tracking work, coordinating delivery, and mentoring junior team members.
• Must be able to work from an eligible United States state; current eligible states are Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah. On-call and after-hours availability is required.
