Salary: $131,000–$218,300 annually

What you will do
- Design, build, and operate scalable production APIs used across .
- Develop backend services with TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
- Build Kafka-based event-driven integrations and maintain PostgreSQL schemas.
- Develop Terraform infrastructure and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
- Build migration tools, support platform adoption, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Review technical designs, establish API and event standards, mentor engineers, and participate in on-call support.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience; the role typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent qualifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing, building, and operating production APIs and backend services with TypeScript/Node.js and Python.
- Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms, PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases, Terraform, and modern CI/CD platforms.
- Experience supporting production systems, resolving operational issues, and participating in technical design discussions and code reviews.

Nice to have
- Experience with Azure API Management, Service Bus, Helm, and Kubernetes.
- Experience modernizing Ruby on Rails or Elixir applications.
- Experience in SOX, ITGC, or other regulated software-delivery environments.
- Experience developing platform services or internal developer platforms and mentoring engineers.
- Experience with AI-assisted software-development tools such as Claude.
