Senior Electrical Engineer (Building Engineering)

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop electrical concepts, designs, drawings, specifications, reports, and building systems layouts.
• Design power distribution, lighting, electrical rooms, panels, feeders, branch circuits, generators, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and VFDs.
• Prepare load calculations, lighting calculations, coordinated design options, and building condition assessment reports.
• Lead electrical engineering work and manage Building Engineering projects through proposal, design, bidding, and construction phases.
• Coordinate with architects, multidisciplinary engineers, owners, contractors, manufacturers, and permitting authorities.
• Serve as Engineer-of-Record, review code compliance, and mentor and develop junior design staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• New York State Professional Engineer’s license required.
• At least 10 years of experience at an architecture and engineering consulting firm.
• Experience designing building systems focused on power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, and telecommunications.
• Familiarity with AGi32 lighting software, SKM power software, and arc-flash evaluation.
• Strong writing, organizational, communication, multitasking, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• AutoCAD and Revit experience.
