What you will do

• Design basic electrical power, lighting, grounding, bonding, and special systems in accordance with applicable codes.
• Prepare power load, illumination, short-circuit, and voltage-drop calculations.
• Develop basis-of-design reports, code evaluations, single-line diagrams, plans, schedules, installation details, and specifications.
• Conduct field investigations and surveys of existing conditions to integrate designs with existing systems and structures.
• Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, designers, clients, manufacturers, and construction trade partners.
• Support projects across studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
• Fundamental experience with electrical design calculations and lighting, power, and special systems design.
• Ability to interface with clients and external partners and to work with other design disciplines.
• Fundamental experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting.
• Ability to travel for client development and project execution.

Nice to have

• Registration for or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
