Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Rosslyn, Virginia, United States; hybrid work with in-office collaboration at least three days per week

Annual base pay: $148,500–$303,500 USD, plus benefits and potential variable pay.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operation of production software for the Competitive Intelligence product area.
• Build customer-facing analysis, visualizations, user interfaces, and agentic workflows that turn complex datasets into actionable insights.
• Translate product priorities into technical plans, identify dependencies and risks, and guide architectural decisions.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, testing, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.
• Lead incident response, diagnose complex production issues, and implement improvements that prevent recurrence.
• Mentor engineers, support recruiting and interviewing, and promote responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.

Requirements

• Ability to work from the Rosslyn, Virginia office at least three days per week.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience and a BA/BS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent college-level education.
• Fluency in Java, Go, C++, Python, or a similar programming language; development is primarily in Java and Go.
• Strong foundations in software architecture, system design, data structures, algorithms, and technical decision-making.
• Experience leading significant technical projects, diagnosing production problems, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across teams.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools, including critically evaluating output for correctness, security, scalability, privacy, and maintainability.
