Member of Technical Staff 2 - AI

Location: Hybrid, with at least 3 onsite days per week in applicable workplaces, including Vancouver, San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.

Salary: CAD $103,000–$155,000 annually, with potential additional compensation including a sign-on bonus, RSUs, and discretionary awards.

What you will do

• Architect, design, and develop horizontally scalable, containerized, fault-tolerant services on Kubernetes.
• Improve system performance for low-latency and high-throughput use cases, including low-level stack optimization.
• Design scalable observability architectures for collecting, analyzing, and reporting platform metrics.
• Build and maintain cloud-native services, CI/CD workflows, and open-source integrations.
• Contribute across technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and product launches.
• Collaborate with product management and backend engineering teams through code reviews, design reviews, documentation, and technology selection.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience developing maintainable, modular, resilient code in a product development company.
• Strong programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and experience with Go and Python.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of datacenter design, distributed computing and storage, virtualization, operating system internals, networking, and performance monitoring.
• Experience designing and tuning high-performance system software and working with on-premises, cloud, and hybrid deployment architectures.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with hardware accelerators such as GPUs.
• Open-source contributions or experience working with large codebases.
• Experience building multi-tenant services on virtualized infrastructure.
