Staff Operations AI Engineer

Location: Denver, Colorado, or Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Hybrid work is required, with at least 3 days per week in the office. A relocation stipend may be available for relocation to a hirify.global hub.

Salary: $150,000–$176,000 USD in Denver; $136,000–$159,980 USD in Nashville.

What you will do

• Design and own integration architecture for AI agents across internal systems and third-party platforms.
• Build production-grade API integrations with OAuth or token authentication, webhooks, event-driven patterns, and workflow orchestration.
• Improve reliability through error handling, retries, observability, fallback mechanisms, and bottleneck resolution.
• Build structured data pipelines, normalized schemas, and predictable JSON inputs for LLM-powered workflows.
• Implement AI guardrails, validation rules, safety checks, and output-quality improvements.
• Document architecture, establish engineering standards, and provide technical leadership across teams.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in automation platforms, integration architecture, or AI-enabled operations.
• Deep expertise in API design, OAuth or token-based authentication, webhooks, and event-driven systems.
• Strong JavaScript and Python skills, plus solid SQL experience for data transformation and validation.
• Advanced experience with JSON, schemas, data normalization, LLM-powered agents, prompt engineering, guardrails, and output validation.
• Experience designing scalable integrations across multiple platforms, including CRM or support systems such as Salesforce and Zendesk.
• Strong systems thinking, ownership, communication, engineering rigor, and understanding of AI safety and governance.

• Experience with Tray.io, Make, Zapier, or UiPath.
• Snowflake experience.
• Salesforce or Zendesk integrations.
• Front-end UI widgets or embeds.
• Operations technology experience.
