AI Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Westminster or Centennial, Colorado, with flexibility for remote work as approved; occasional support for field teams and job sites and minimal travel.

Salary: $80,000–$125,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered tools, applications, agents, and intelligent workflows for operational improvement.
• Partner with operations, IT, and business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate business challenges into scalable AI solutions.
• Build and integrate AI systems using APIs, large language models, cloud-based AI services, and enterprise technologies.
• Establish prompt engineering, validation, governance, monitoring, security, and responsible AI practices.
• Create user-friendly interfaces, dashboards, and tools that support adoption across technical and non-technical teams.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and contribute to AI strategy, architecture, and the innovation roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, data science, or a related technical discipline, including 3+ years of hands-on AI/ML development.
• At least 2 years of experience building and deploying AI agents, agentic workflows, or autonomous AI solutions in production.
• Experience designing and deploying solutions with modern AI platforms, LLMs, APIs, and cloud AI services such as Azure AI Services, OpenAI, AWS AI/ML, or Google Vertex AI.
• Ability to gather business requirements, architect scalable solutions, and integrate AI technologies into enterprise environments.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not currently available.

Nice to have

• Experience with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, or AI orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Automate, Zapier, Make, or similar workflow automation platforms.
• Knowledge of AI governance, data security, role-based access controls, and responsible AI practices.
• Experience leading cross-functional technology initiatives and driving adoption of emerging technologies.
