Software Engineer II – Test Automation (Aerospace)

Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.

Base pay for Washington applicants: $134,961–$188,945.40 annually. Other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Build production automation for test instruments and integrate tools, scripts, and sequences into hardware-in-the-loop test frameworks.
• Develop operator-facing software used on the test floor to verify New Glenn avionics.
• Work with internal customers and avionics hardware engineers to capture requirements, define test sequencing, negotiate scope, and deliver against program milestones.
• Architect and extend automated test execution frameworks.
• Implement check logic, pass/fail criteria, limit management, and structured reporting for acceptance and qualification test campaigns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional software coding and engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Python and experience developing software on Red Hat operating systems.
• Experience with socket programming, UDP/TCP, command transport, packet capture, and packet parsing.
• Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements and pass the required background check.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with automated test equipment and avionics test environments.
• Knowledge of acceptance and qualification testing in aerospace hardware development.
• Experience with Processor-in-the-Loop design and deployment for testing.
• Advanced Python programming skills and a proactive, self-starting approach.
