HITL Engineer (Aerospace)

TL;DR

HITL Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and maintaining high-fidelity vehicle testbeds integrating flight-like hardware and simulation with an accent on system validation and avionics verification. Focus on scaling testbeds through automation and ensuring parity between ground assets and flight vehicles.

Location: Los Angeles, CA. Must be a U.S. Person (ITAR compliance)

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 + equity

What you will do

• Design and document high-fidelity vehicle testbeds and GSE racks.
• Operate HITL testbeds for system validation, verification, and on-orbit operations.
• Integrate and test flight representative hardware into HITL testbeds.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to create and build hardware simulation equipment.
• Create and release harness drawings for ground support and test equipment.
• Troubleshoot testbed issues and support training events for mission operators.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, computer, or other engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in an integration, test, or automation engineering role.
• Hands-on experience with HITL or Flatsat software verification testbeds.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining test racks and harnessing.
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment (PSU, Oscilloscope, DMM) and ESD sensitive equipment.
• Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR regulations or eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python and/or Rust.
• Experience with Linux systems and containerized solutions like Docker.
• Experience managing contractual interfaces (customer, launch vehicle).
