What you will do

• Design basic-complexity HVAC and mechanical utility systems, including airside, chilled water, heating hot water, steam, natural gas, and compressed air systems.
• Perform load, envelope, pressure drop, energy, and other engineering calculations.
• Size mechanical equipment, ductwork, and piping; develop schematics, plans, P&IDs, schedules, specifications, and installation details.
• Prepare design and construction documentation using building information modeling, computer-aided drafting, and engineering calculation software.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, manufacturers, vendors, construction trade partners, and other design disciplines.
• Support construction administration through RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus.
• 0–3 years of experience and completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• Basic experience with engineering calculations and HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping system design.
• Ability to work under the direction of senior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu.
• LEED, WELL, or another sustainable design credential, or experience with sustainable design.
• Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, or food and beverage projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, fire, and building codes and standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, and OSHA.
• Experience with plumbing design, field surveys, Revit plugins, or parametric workflows using Dynamo, Grasshopper, or Rhino.
