Staff Mechanical Engineer II (Manufacturing)

Location: Flexible within the lower 48 states of the United States; Lake Forest, Illinois listed as the posting location. Travel required: 80%. Relocation is not required.

Salary: $96,000–$130,000 annually, plus an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Provide technical support to business and manufacturing operations.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, vendor and contractor specifications, and engineering recommendations.
• Manage capital and maintenance projects from planning and design through implementation, documentation, budgeting, and troubleshooting.
• Create AutoCAD drawings, general arrangements, concept layouts, piping schematics, isometrics, and basic civil or structural construction drawings.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, consulting engineers, utility providers, local authorities, and internal engineering groups.
• Manage installation safety and maintain projects on schedule and within budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology from an accredited college or university; other degrees may be considered with substantial experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in an industrial paper or corrugating environment or in design engineering.
• Expertise with AutoCAD or a similar design tool.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, planning, and influencing skills.
• Ability to travel 80% of the time and reside anywhere in the lower 48 states with reliable air transportation access.
