Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including injection and blow molders, fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
• Maintain and repair facility and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, reverse-osmosis systems, and water-filtration equipment.
• Maintain industrial control systems and perform equipment modifications, lubrication, operation, and diagnostics.
• Work with operators, supervisors, preventative-maintenance mechanics, and senior maintenance technicians to resolve complex and recurring issues.
• Document repairs, work orders, parts usage, and materials while following plant safety and PPE requirements.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience in maintenance or a similar field, in the position, and managing people or projects; experience may combine education and work experience.
• High school diploma required; an associate degree in manufacturing, mechatronics, automation, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process-instrumentation schematics.
• Experience using shop equipment and precision measuring tools, including presses, grinders, drill presses, mills, lathes, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
• Own toolbox and basic tools required; willingness to act as a technical leader and trainer.

Nice to have

• Six years of relevant maintenance, manufacturing, or people/project-management experience.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics.
• Experience with VFDs, servo drives and motors, PLC input/output cards, safety modules, communication systems, Krones, Sidel, Husky, HVAC, chillers, and air compressors.
• Experience with 480VAC and 24VDC electrical systems, fabrication, and MIG, TIG, or stick welding.
