Automotive Senior Technician

Location: 781579 Wickham, United States; onsite retail automotive service position

Pay range: $19.57–$33.56 per hour, with flat-rate performance-based compensation

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, and computer systems.
• Perform general automotive maintenance and tire repairs to specification.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers without mechanical backgrounds.
• Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Complete paid formal training to stay current with changing automotive technology.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid automobile driver's license and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skill in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, plus reading, writing, and math skills.
• Must complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify candidates.

Nice to have

• Three years of automotive repair experience, third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical school program.
• A.S.E. certification in at least one A1–A8 area; L1 certification is acceptable.
