TL;DR
Automotive Senior Technician (Automotive Repair): Diagnosing and repairing drivability, electrical, brake, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems with an accent on technical accuracy, customer communication, and technician mentoring. Focus on solving complex vehicle issues, training mechanics, and obtaining or maintaining A.S.E. certifications.
Location: 028967 Government. Onsite automotive service role. Employment requires completion of a Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify candidates.
Salary: $18.54–$31.31, with performance-based flat-rate compensation.

What you will do
- Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Perform general automotive maintenance and tire repairs to required specifications.
- Explain technical diagnoses and recommended repairs to customers without mechanical expertise.
- Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
- Complete paid formal training to stay current with changing automotive technology.
- Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certification in at least three A1–A8 areas within the first two years.
Requirements
- Valid automobile driver’s license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
- Demonstrated skill in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and wheel alignment.
- Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
- Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers, with basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Preferred: three years of automotive repair experience, vocational-technical training, or relevant third-party certifications; A.S.E. certification in at least one A1–A8 area is also preferred.
