Construction Manager (Water/Wastewater)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work.

Infrastructure planning and design firm delivering water, transportation, disaster resilience, and other community infrastructure projects.

What you will do

• Lead construction management for multiple complex water and wastewater treatment projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Coordinate owners, contractors, multidisciplinary design teams, and construction staff.
• Oversee change and field orders, schedules, submittals, RFIs, claims, pay requests, meetings, and project closeout.
• Direct construction involving treatment process systems, piping, structures, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, and facility improvements.
• Manage project risks, quality, non-conforming work, sequencing, facility interfaces, and planned shutdowns.
• Lead staff development, coordinate project staffing, build client relationships, and support business development pursuits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of relevant construction experience as a construction manager or superintendent.
• Direct experience supervising staff and leading construction teams across multiple projects.
• Advanced proficiency with project management information systems and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Understanding of alternate project delivery methods, construction contract administration, and complex project coordination.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer, Certified Construction Manager, or Certified Construction Contract Administrator credential.
• Water or wastewater treatment facility construction experience.
• Experience managing active treatment facilities, treatment process equipment, piping, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and instrumentation.
• Experience with business development, client relationship management, or construction management pursuits.
