Advanced Manufacturing Intern

Location: McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite work combining office duties with field and production-floor activity.

Salary: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support visualization of factory quality, availability, and performance data.
• Create custom Ignition dashboards and analyze weld, paint, and assembly data for predictive models.
• Identify opportunities for automated feedback, smart torque tools, and robotic welding systems.
• Participate in time studies, line balancing, ergonomic assessments, and workstation or production-cell analyses.
• Provide input on manufacturing fixtures and tooling, and create or revise plant layout drawings using AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Learn and use ERP manufacturing software while supporting continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in data analytics, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Ability to work across office, field, and production environments, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, moderate lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.
• Ability to shift between detailed cognitive work and occasional physical tasks.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Excel and SQL.
• Familiarity with Power BI.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or industrial process optimization.
