Paramedic II (EMS): Providing emergency medical services, advanced life support, patient assessment, treatment, and transport from an in-person university health center with an accent on emergency response, medical protocols, and patient safety. Focus on managing multiple-casualty scenes, directing EMS crews, mentoring medics, and maintaining accurate emergency care documentation.
Location: In person at the Beutel Health Center on TAMU Main Campus in College Station, Texas; 24-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays. Up to 10% or more travel may be required.

What you will do
- Assess illnesses and injuries, provide initial treatment, and perform basic and advanced life support.
- Transport ill or injured patients to emergency facilities and document their conditions, treatments, and responses.
- Lead patient care activities, direct crew members, and serve as Medical Scene Commander during multiple-casualty incidents.
- Prepare EMS run reports, participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities, and maintain EMS equipment and vehicles.
- Monitor dispatch communications, manage supplies, and report equipment malfunctions.
- Mentor new medics and support continuing education, internal certification courses, appointment scheduling, and medical providers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or successful completion of an approved Paramedic Training Program.
- Five years of experience as an EMT or paramedic with an accredited emergency medical service provider.
- Current Texas EMT-P certification or paramedic licensure and a valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications; certifications must be maintained throughout employment.
- Ability to obtain Basic Trauma Life Support or equivalent and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within six months of employment.
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality, and make accurate decisions using limited information.
Nice to have
- Associate or bachelor’s degree.
- American Heart Association instructor certification.
