Civil Engineering Intern

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada — 3381 Steeles Avenue East

Salary: CAD 20–30 per hour

What you will do

• Assist with proposals, project schedules, feasibility studies, and functional and detailed designs for highways, roads, and intersections.
• Support transportation studies, traffic operations, parking demand investigations, site impact analyses, and related recommendations.
• Perform engineering calculations and prepare grading, servicing, sanitary, stormwater, and erosion and sedimentation control plans.
• Prepare contract specifications, tender packages, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.
• Assist with permits, construction approvals, plot plan reviews, and regular progress reporting.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in civil or environmental engineering.
• Strong organizational, time management, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively.
• Commitment to integrity, innovation, continuous learning, and responsible professional conduct.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil3D, or ArcGIS is an asset.
• Prior experience preparing transportation studies or functional servicing reports is a plus.
