What you will do

• Perform production-level laboratory testing of embankment dam materials, including internal stability, filter compatibility, and filter performance assessments.
• Analyze and interpret laboratory results and develop technically supported conclusions and recommendations.
• Prepare work plans, design and fabrication reports, laboratory testing reports, and other technical deliverables.
• Coordinate testing activities and monitor scope, schedules, budgets, quality requirements, and project progress.
• Review technical work, support laboratory and technical staff, and contribute to methods, procedures, standards, and quality programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate with stakeholders, present findings, and support new service opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; geotechnical coursework, research, co-op, or project experience is preferred.
• Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
• Up to five years of relevant engineering experience toward Professional Engineer registration.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to interpret test data, solve technical problems, work independently, and manage competing priorities.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence or equivalent; pre-employment alcohol and drug testing is required for this safety-sensitive position.

Nice to have

• Postgraduate degree in geotechnical engineering.
• Experience with the inspection, assessment, design, or laboratory testing of embankment dams or other civil infrastructure.
• Lower-experience candidates may be considered for a junior or EIT position.
