Senior Safety/Security Officer

What you will do

• Supervise security personnel on assigned shifts and act as the primary shift contact when the Safety/Security Manager is unavailable.
• Conduct physical inspections and security checks of facilities and grounds, protecting people and property from theft, vandalism, fire, flooding, and other hazards.
• Respond to incidents, investigate events, prepare accurate reports, and coordinate with law enforcement and center leadership.
• Control disturbances, support de-escalation, protect students’ civil rights, and supervise students in isolation.
• Maintain accountability for students, staff, visitors, vendors, employees, and property, including entry and exit logs and contraband searches.
• Transport students, deliver materials, inspect GSA vehicles, and maintain transportation, vehicle, security, and student records.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least one year of related experience and experience working with youth.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to complete required documentation, follow safety procedures, and communicate clearly.
• Ability to work on site in Dayton, Ohio, USA and respond to physical safety and security situations.
