Systems Engineer I (Azure/AWS)

Location: Draper, Utah, United States (Hybrid). Full-time schedule with core working hours varying between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, plus participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation every few weeks.

What you will do

• Monitor system performance, availability, and security, escalating issues when needed.
• Respond to support requests and troubleshoot hardware, software, access, storage, and application issues.
• Administer and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure, AWS, and related applications.
• Support releases, patching, upgrades, backups, endpoint management, device configuration, compliance, and deployments.
• Use PowerShell and other scripting tools for automation, reporting, and repeatable operational tasks.
• Document system changes and troubleshooting procedures and collaborate with network, telecom, development, help desk, security, and business teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in IT, systems administration, help desk, infrastructure, cloud, or a related technical area.
• Working knowledge of Windows environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals, and basic security practices.
• Exposure to Azure, AWS, or GCP and familiarity with endpoint management, virtualization, backup, monitoring, or ticketing tools.
• Basic scripting or automation experience, preferably with PowerShell.
• Ability to troubleshoot methodically, research unfamiliar issues, and communicate with technical and non-technical partners.
• Bachelor’s degree, relevant certifications, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Intune, SCCM, Microsoft Entra ID, VMware, Hyper-V, SQL Server, IIS, or SharePoint administration.
• Microsoft, Azure, AWS, CompTIA, ITIL, or security certifications.
• Linux, software development, DevOps, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code experience.
