Production Associate, 1st/2nd Stage (3:30 pm – 12:00 midnight) (Manufacturing)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; onsite manufacturing facility

Salary: CAD 41,300–55,000 per year plus a 10% shift premium

Manufactures rugged, high-quality products in small batches for military requirements, using certified assembly, cleaning, coating, inspection, SAP, and MES operations.

What you will do

• Assemble, inspect, repair, align, fasten, and secure PTH and press-fit components.
• Prepare components for wave soldering, wire wrapping, washing, and other production processes.
• Operate production equipment and follow work instructions, drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
• Identify defective, damaged, missing, or incorrect parts and maintain accurate production records.
• Meet production and quality targets while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Collaborate across departments, attend production meetings, support yield improvement, and participate in Lean training and safety initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma and 2+ years of manufacturing or assembly experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to read work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, and assembly drawings.
• Experience with PWB assembly, SMT and PTH components, soldering equipment, hot-air rework stations, tweezers, and microscopes.
• Experience removing and replacing PTH or fine-pitch surface-mount devices and recognizing workmanship defects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, multitask, and support shift rotations.

Nice to have

• College training in manufacturing, mechanical engineering technology, electrical technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience with BGA or CGA component rework, circuit-card ECOs, and formal rework processes.
• ERP or SAP experience.
• IPC J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 certification.
