Tool and Die Maker (Manufacturing)

Location: Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada; onsite. Relocation may be considered.

Salary: CAD 35–50 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve progressive dies used in production.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, sharpening, rebuilding, and restoration of tooling.
• Manufacture and modify die components using mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and other tool room equipment.
• Support die tryouts and resolve tooling issues alongside Production, Setup, and Maintenance teams.
• Verify dimensions, clearances, and alignment with precision measuring equipment to meet quality specifications.
• Share tool room knowledge, support apprentices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Tool and Die Maker certification or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience maintaining and repairing progressive dies in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, blueprints, tooling drawings, and work instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and operate large equipment for approximately 8 hours, with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring apprentices or less experienced team members.
• CAD/CAM and welding experience.
