Assembly Technician II (Optical Electronics)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Onsite manufacturing role with morning and afternoon shifts, Monday through Friday.

What you will do

• Assemble optical, mechanical, and electronic components, subassemblies, products, and systems.
• Perform intermediate operations including mechanical assembly, soldering, encapsulation, die bonding, wire bonding, cleaning, epoxy application, curing, and pneumatic machinery operation.
• Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases and other packaging materials, including work under a microscope or magnifying device.
• Conduct inline testing and inspections using measuring instruments, software, fixtures, and electrical test equipment.
• Perform repairs and rework according to approved written procedures and assembly or test instructions.
• Cross-train on other facility programs and complete additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of electronics assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Post-secondary diploma or certificate in a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions and electronic test procedures.
• Good English verbal and written communication skills required.
• Experience in an ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, or FDA QSR-compliant environment is an asset.
