Senior Director, Mission AI

Location: Hybrid in Herndon, Virginia, USA; on-site with the team 2–3 days per week, with candidates expected to live within approximately 50 miles of the office.

On-target earnings: $317,200–$423,100 USD annually.

What you will do

• Build, lead, and scale the Mission AI business through annual and multi-year strategy, priority markets, mission use cases, and bookings objectives.
• Develop a national-security AI ecosystem across compute, cloud, frontier models, data platforms, agents, and mission applications.
• Establish strategic partnerships with model providers, NVIDIA ecosystems, hyperscalers, AI clouds, and government-authorized technology companies.
• Generate qualified pipeline and strategic pursuits across the Department of War, Intelligence Community, military services, laboratories, NATO, Five Eyes, and allied governments.
• Create repeatable Mission AI solutions, including Department of War AI Arsenal use cases and AI Factory architectures.
• Coordinate sales, engineering, product, marketing, executive leadership, and the Strategic Growth Organization to deliver integrated mission architectures.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in business development, AI, cloud, cybersecurity, defense technology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success building new businesses, markets, or complex ecosystems and generating seven- and eight-figure opportunities.
• Strong understanding of modern AI architectures, frontier models, generative AI, and agentic AI.
• Deep familiarity with Department of War and Intelligence Community markets, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into mission outcomes.
• Strong executive communication skills and the ability to operate independently with limited initial resources.
• Applicants must have the right to work in the United States; an active security clearance is preferred, with TS/SCI strongly desirable.
