Project Manager for Hardware (AI)

Location: Salt Lake City, United States; office-based role

What you will do

• Lead hardware projects from concept through requirements, architecture, prototyping, design reviews, validation, certification, manufacturing readiness, and product launch.
• Coordinate electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, systems, test, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams around shared milestones and dependencies.
• Identify technical and operational roadblocks, facilitate decisions, and maintain progress using data-driven problem solving.
• Manage schedule, design, supply chain, cost, quality, certification, and manufacturing risks through mitigation and resolution.
• Coordinate prototype and production builds with engineering, sourcing, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Communicate plans, progress, decisions, risks, and blockers through clear project documentation and leadership updates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in hardware project management, engineering program management, or new product introduction management.
• Experience guiding multidisciplinary hardware teams through multiple product development stages and shipping physical products.
• Strong understanding of hardware requirements, prototyping, design reviews, engineering changes, verification and validation, manufacturing readiness, and product release.
• Experience with waterfall, agile, Kanban, stage-gate, or hybrid project management approaches.
• Experience with schedules, critical paths, dependencies, risks, issues, supplier coordination, manufacturing, and production ramp.
• Strong communication, leadership, documentation, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with controllers, sensors, connected devices, embedded systems, building automation equipment, industrial products, or electromechanical systems.
• Knowledge of printed circuit boards, embedded firmware, mechanical design, tooling, enclosures, and hardware testing.
• Experience with bills of materials, component lifecycle management, long-lead procurement, supplier management, and production ramp.
• Familiarity with regulatory certification, reliability testing, root-cause analysis, FMEA, design for manufacturing, design for test, or design for assembly.
