Senior Software Test Engineer (TS/SCI)

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States; SCIF presence required at least 3 days per week

Salary: $120,000–$160,000–$176,000 annually in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Other states use location-specific market-driven ranges.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test plans, cases, and procedures.
• Validate functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and usability of web-based and data-centric applications.
• Perform integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing across distributed environments.
• Verify data integrity and data flow across large-scale analytics and ingestion pipelines.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects while collaborating with developers, product owners, system administrators, and end users.
• Support CI/CD testing, test automation frameworks, Agile ceremonies, and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance are mandatory; willingness to obtain a CI Poly is required.
• At least 14 years of total professional experience, including 5+ years in software testing, quality assurance, or related technical roles.
• Experience testing web applications, APIs, and distributed systems, including performance and security testing.
• Experience with automated testing tools and scripting languages such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Python, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, defect tracking, and test management tools such as Jira or TestRail.
• Availability for SCIF presence at least 3 days per week, according to program needs. A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent technical background is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, or similar big data technologies.
• Experience testing cloud-native applications in AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, ISTQB certification, or high-availability production environments.
• Military or intelligence analysis experience, military or Intelligence Community support, or knowledge of IC PED systems.
