Senior SQA Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 annually, plus benefits and an annual bonus structure.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for the Orbit web platform and embedded robotic systems.
• Build end-to-end tests covering web workflows, robot actuation, navigation, and payload operations.
• Implement Hardware-in-the-Loop testing for robot performance, stability, perception, and autonomy.
• Create test plans and strategies across browsers, web APIs, hardware variants, and robotic systems.
• Investigate complex failures across software and hardware using logs, web traffic, and telemetry.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with web, embedded software, and hardware engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience in automated testing for web applications and complex electromechanical or robotics systems.
• Strong Python skills for system test development and framework integration, including pytest; experience with Playwright is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop automation and testing physical robotics or embedded platforms.
• Experience with REST APIs, network connectivity, robotic control systems, version control, build systems, and CI/CD toolchains.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a hands-on builder mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience testing web interfaces that control embedded or autonomous hardware.
• Familiarity with C++, TypeScript or JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with Jira, TestRail, Agile/Scrum, simulation, field testing, or hardware stress testing.
