Senior FPGA Firmware Developer (COMSEC)

Base pay for Colorado applicants: $181,626–$254,275.35 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, simulate, and verify FPGA firmware for COMSEC applications.
• Define and document firmware architecture, requirements, and interfaces.
• Perform FPGA synthesis, place-and-route, and timing analysis.
• Collaborate with electrical hardware designers, circuit designers, embedded developers, and systems engineers.
• Support hardware bring-up, integration, testing, and firmware troubleshooting in laboratory and field environments.
• Contribute to design reviews and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of FPGA firmware development experience.
• Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog/SystemVerilog, plus experience with FPGA toolchains such as Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus.
• Strong knowledge of digital design principles, timing constraints, verification methodologies, AXI bus implementations, and hardware schematics.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, refugees, or asylees lawfully admitted into the United States.

Nice to have

• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience with COMSEC, cryptographic systems, or secure communications.
• Knowledge of zero-trust security architecture, high-speed serial interfaces, DO-254, embedded systems, or hardware/firmware co-design.
