Senior FPGA RF Signal Processing Engineer (RF DSP)

Location: Remote, with ITAR/EAR eligibility required for access to export-controlled information; applicants must be eligible U.S. persons or otherwise eligible for the required export authorization.

Salary: $138,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Implement and optimize real-time RF DSP algorithms on FPGAs.
• Prototype algorithms in Python and port them to ARM-based SoCs.
• Design, simulate, and implement DSP algorithms for communications, electronic support measures, radar, and other RF applications.
• Collaborate with RF hardware engineers on instrument bring-up, calibration, and system integration.
• Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and test reports.
• Work with software, science, engineering, and data teams on high-performance wireless communication and RF sensing products.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional FPGA development experience focused on RF DSP and translating algorithm prototypes into FPGA implementations.
• Profound expertise in HDL, including Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL, as well as FPGA architecture and design flows.
• Experience with RF DSP techniques such as spectrum monitoring, signal intelligence, modulation and demodulation, filtering, channel estimation, equalization, synchronization, AGC, or DPD.
• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to work with a distributed, interdisciplinary team and familiarity with modern software development practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet ITAR/EAR export-control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Xilinx/AMD RFSoC or MPSoC platforms.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or Rust for embedded and real-time systems, plus Python-based development and analysis.
• Experience with DPD, beamforming, MIMO, radar signal processing, communications algorithms, calibration, and RF hardware concepts.
• Experience with space-based applications, embedded CI/CD, Git, JTAG, GDB, and laboratory instrumentation.
