Senior Customer Engineer (SLED)

Location: 100% remote, but must reside in Seattle or the Pacific Northwest. Offer-stage candidates may be asked to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub.

Salary: $231,000–$275,000+ estimated annual OTE for San Francisco-based hires, or $221,000–$267,000 estimated annual OTE for Los Angeles-based hires, including base and commissions.

What you will do

• Lead technical discovery, architecture design, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements across security, networking, and developer platforms.
• Partner with Account Executives to manage onboarding, implementation, technical health, risk, adoption, and expansion throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Serve as the primary technical advisor for state, local, education, and municipal customers.
• Carry a variable quota and identify cross-sell, up-sell, retention, and account-growth opportunities through product usage data.
• Lead technical quarterly business reviews and translate platform capabilities into measurable business value for executive stakeholders.
• Use AI agents and internal platforms to automate RFP responses, security questionnaires, sandbox provisioning, and telemetry monitoring.

Requirements

• Experience working with or selling to SLED, local government, or municipal agencies, including knowledge of public-sector buying cycles and compliance requirements.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering.
• Broad expertise in web security, routing, DNS, DDoS mitigation, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
• Experience in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment and knowledge of SaaS metrics and enterprise sales cycles.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder-management skills for technical and government executive audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with Workers AI, AI Gateway, Vectorize, prompt engineering, LLM orchestration, or RAG architectures.
• Python, JavaScript, or similar programming experience for integrations, API connectors, and edge functions.
